LG Electronics is a multi-billion dollar electronics company located in South Korea which is well known for its high quality products. LG is also well known for their close attention to quality control. This is why it is so maddening if your LG Subwoofer is not working. Since a subwoofer, which is also called a sub, reproduces low frequency sounds that are lower in frequency than woofers produce, this means that you will be missing out on many bass and sub-bass sounds produced by your LG Subwoofer. Some simple troubleshooting steps can lead you to determining the etiology of this problem so you can quickly resolve it.
If your LG Subwoofer is not working, first try turning your LG Soundbar's volume down by pressing down on the Volume – button and then checking the LG Subwoofer again. If this does solve the problem, unplug the LG Soundbar and re-plug it after 5 minutes.
If this still does not solve the problem, you can try to manually connect your LG Subwoofer with your LG Soundbar. Continue pressing on Volume Down and in a short amount of time, the LG Soundbar should light up with a Red Color. Then, after about two seconds, the solid red light should start to flash.
Now, take your Remote and then press down on the Mute button for about three seconds. Keep pressing down on the Mute Button until you start to see the LCD indicator light start to flash quickly.
LG Subwoofer Blinking Green
If your LG Subwoofer is blinking green, it means that the connection between the LG Subwoofer and your LG Soundbar has either been disconnected or is not functional. You will also notice that the LG subwoofer is not producing any sounds. If this is the case, some easy troubleshooting steps can determine the cause of the problem so that you can quickly resolve it.
If your LG subwoofer is not working, and it keeps blinking green, adjust the volume level to lower levels until you see the message Vol Min appear. Then press and hold down the Mute button on the LG Remote Control for a period of about three seconds. You should then see the message of WL Reset.
Press and then hold down Pairing on the back of the LG Subwoofer.
Also, make sure that the LG Subwoofer and the LG Soundbar are installed within about fifteen or sixteen feet of each other. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the path between the LG Subwoofer and the LG Soundbar.
In addition, check for any other devices that might be interfering that are on the same Wi-Fi network, such as microwaves or wireless LAN devices or various kinds of medical equipment such as heart monitors.
LG Subwoofer Blinking Red
If your LG Subwoofer is blinking red, it means that the connection to the LG Subwoofer is not fully connected. Luckily, you can resolve this issue with a few quick steps to reinstate a connection.
If your LG Subwoofer is not working and it is blinking red, press on Pair on the Subwoofer. See if you see the green-yellow light on the LED Display on the front of the Subwoofer. If the Green-yellow Light does not blink, Press and Hold the Pairing Button again.
Now, turn on the LG Soundbar and the Green-Yellow light should be on.
If this did not help to solve the problem, try pressing the Stop Button on the LG Soundbar and the Mute Button on the Remote at the same time until you see a message that indicates Remate on the LCD display. Then try pressing the Pairing Button on the back of the LG Subwoofer again.
At this point, you should see either a blue or a yellow light that is flashing. Now turn the LG Subwoofer back on and check again to see if it is finally paired with the LG Soundbar.
LG Subwoofer Keeps Cutting Out
If your LG Subwoofer is not working and keeps cutting out, it can be extremely frustrating and annoying. You may be able to resolve this problem by resetting the signal from the LG Soundbar to the LG subwoofer.
If your LG subwoofer is not working and keeps cutting out, first unplug the LG soundbar from the Power Source. Press the Reset Button on the back of the LG Subwoofer and hold it in for ten seconds. Then wait thirty seconds and then plug the LG Soundbar back in.
If this does not solve the problem, try pressing the Stop button on the LG Soundbar along with the 6 Button on the Remote at the same time for a period of about five seconds. Now you should see the message indicating WL Reset. Then press Pairing on the back of the LG Subwoofer with a pen or paperclip.
You should then see the green and red lights blinking alternately. Unplug the power supply to both the LG Subwoofer and the LG Soundbar. Then plug in both units and turn them on. At this point, if you see the green LED light of the Woofer first blinking quickly and then turning a solid green, check to see if the LG Subwoofer is producing sound normally.
LG Subwoofer Not Pairing
If your LG Subwoofer is not pairing, there are a few easy troubleshooting steps to take. Most of these analytic steps involve re-pairing the LG Subwoofer with the LG Soundbar.
If your LG Subwoofer is not working and is not pairing, go ahead again and check on the back of the subwoofer for the Pairing Button. Press and hold it for at least five seconds. Then you will see the subwoofer's LED light blinking green and red in succession.
It will require the use of a small screwdriver or even a small paperclip to press the pairing button. After you see the blinking red and green lights, unplug the LG Subwoofer and the Soundbar as well. Maintain the power off for several minutes.
Go ahead and plug the LG Subwoofer and the LG Soundbar back into the power source for several minutes. After this, there should be an automatic pairing of the two devices. In order to check that the pairing has actually occurred, check the LED indicator light that is located on the opposite side of the Subwoofer. If pairing has occurred, you should see a Solid Green LED Indicator Light.
Now, test the pairing by trying to play something from your LG TV. If pairing has occurred, you should be able to hear clear sound both from the LG Soundbar and the LG Subwoofer.
If you are still having problems pairing your LF Subwoofer and your LG Soundbar, it is probably time to call in a certified LG Sound Technician or to repair one or both of them. As an alternative, you can simply replace both the LG soundbar and the LG Subwoofer.
